Just a shot of the terminal I was in at the Frankfurt airport.
Nothing too amazing except for the fact the number of people that need to smoke must be the same as the number of people that need to use the restroom. Why do I say that? There seemed to be as many smoking stations as there were bathrooms.
You can see a smoking station in the right of the picture. Full glass enclosure sponsored by none other than – Camel.
More ideas for your money.
An interesting cafe inside the Frankfurt airport. Really like the modern design with clean lines. The green and natural wood naturally balances and naturally reminds me of… nature.
The stools are pretty cool but don’t look they are designed to keep someone comfortable for an extended period of time. But, what stools are?
Had a stop in Frankfurt and although it wasn’t my first time there, I was still impressed by the size. At some point you will more than likely have to take a bus to get to or from the terminal.
The airport is large and expanding. Very clean on the inside and I thought the cart for the bathroom cleaners were cool… electrical and the person just stands on the back. U.S. doesn’t have those.
The most striking thing to me was the number of 747’s from various airlines - Frankfurt claims to have the most international destinations.
The last Porsche Design Adidas. Sick of seeing them already? Well, the silver version is a nice contrast from the brown version I posted first.
If the brown version is a Panamera, then the silver must be a Carerra GT. In a nice light silver finish, the patterned leather combined with the solid backing for the the three-stripes conveys sportiness.
Similarly to the black pair, the vent element carries the sportier design cues of the Cayman, Boxter and Carerra GT… not so much the current 911 though.
I have a confession, my favorite automotive color is white. Yes, there are a lot of variations of white but generally speaking, I like white.
If I were able to afford a Porsche, I would definitely have to consider white.
The pair above is not quite as fancy as the brown but are classic in color and design… with a bit of a metallic finish.
If you offer white, you better offer black as well. The black Porsche Design Adidas has a slightly sportier look with a non-looped heal and a different ankle shape. Is that a term? I am no cobbler so beats me.
I digress, so the three-stripes are glossy which they feature on some other shoes but the gray inside looks nice and soft. Nice contrast.
The one design cue that really stands out is the top vent which is reminiscent pf the feature on many Porsche vehicles.
At a larger athletic retailer in Oslo, I came across some shoes in showcase. Yes, the same showcases as the McLarens and following the same automotive theme – we have Porsche Design Adidas.
The photo above is a pair of almost metallic brown (brown has been making a comeback) Porsche Design with woodgrain. Woodgrain? Yes, woodgrain. Next I am there I will have to check if it is real or faux.
The monotone brown with brown tripple, brown laces and light brown sole make these shoes standout – so does the woodgrain and the fact it states Porsche Design. The toe-side of the shoe is patterned and does not have the metallic finish.
Will be checking on the price for some friends as well.
Here is a shot of the McLAREN Sport in silver. A slightly different design than the black version which is good since the colors lend themselves to a slightly different flow.
The silver one does have laces, a different placement of the lines and feels more like a traditional sport shoe than the black version. Doesn’t mean I like it better, it is just different.
They do have the white heal which is the same as the black version. I’d wear them.
Kanye asks, “Have you ever had shoes without shoe strings?” and even though these are in no way what he is referring to, you can answer yes.
The shoe does remind me of McLaren design – not so much the F1 but more like the P11. I really like the lines and the white heal wrapping up the back.
Maybe you can’t afford a McLaren but maybe you are a fan or a fan of their F1 campaign… these are a good way to show your support and at least get a “piece” of McLaren.
At first glance, these reminded me of the Kimono limited edition Onitsuka Tiger Asics I saw in Osaka. But, upon closer inspection – they are a simple white leaf print on a standard red Puma.
I think the color combo and concept is pretty good and bet it looks good on most ladies.
They even use white laces to the front and red closer to the tongue. Not that anyone will notice, but the print also continues inverted on the inside.
